BIRTH AND CHILDHOOD
Born at pope's creek estate on February 22, 1732, (death on December 14, 1799), George Washington lived a rather tragic childhood. He was the first child of Augustine Washington,(1694-1743) and Mary Bell Washington. most of his time a sa child was spent at ferry farm near Fredricksburg. |

ACHIEVEMENTS
In the revolutionary war, the young nation of America was fighting for independance from Great Britain. America had an army named tthe Continental Army, led none other by George Washington himself. Later, when presidency was formed in the nation's early government, people looked up to George Washington for leadership. George was reluctant at first, but agreed to run for presidency, and won the election. The next election, george won again. The third election, the colonists wanted George to run for yet a third time, but George refused. This set a precedent for other preisdents that there limit should be two terms. |
